5/27/2019

This week I started with the zone leaders Monday and Tuesday. President Guffey wanted to meet with me Tuesday night at 8:30, so we went to the mission home to find out where I was getting transferred to. I got transferred home, and I'm going to serve as a service missionary from home. I left Wednesday  morning. I would really like to be in New Mexico still, but was told that there is no way that I can go back as a missionary. :( I'm so grateful for the opportunity to serve in New Mexico, and for all your love and support!

May 20, 2019

This week has been crazy! Monday we did service and had a really good lesson. We also had to call the police because we talked to a very nervous sweaty guy who was figiting with a gun. Tuesday and Wednesday we did lots of finding and a little bit of service.
Thursday we did service, then we had interviews with President Guffey. After that we had more meetings with our ward mission leaders. Friday we had district council, did more finding, and did some service.
Saturday we planted 1800 tomatoes for an organization called seed2need that gives the food to the less fortunate. Then we had a baptism for a child of record that we were asked to teach the restoration at while they were changing.
We also had stake conference Saturday and Sunday, and Sunday we had some great lessons. Elder esplin and I also got emergency transfered, so right now I'm with the zone leaders waiting to hear whats going to happen.
There is a baptism this Saturday in Bernalillo, and Yelena is super excited. We've taught her all the lessons, and she asks tons of good questions!
Love yall!

May 13, 2019

This week was pretty crazy (mostly just Saturday night). We did lots of service. We put a girl on Baptismal date for may 25th! We also got to go to the temple and do Baptisms for the dead with Bruce and Judy who were recently baptized!
Saturday night we went to have a lesson with this returning member that we have been working with and she flipped out at me before the lesson even started. She was cussing and screaming that I had abused her dog by touching it the lesson before. She said that in the state of California that is asault, but she doesn't know about here in New Mexico. The funny thing is that i don't remember touching her dog and neither does my companion or the member we were with! 😂 But my companion pets her dog all the time and shes fine with it. The other member told her to stop swearing in his house and she got up and left before we even started the lesson. We talked to the bishop and found out she has mental health issues and he had asked us to reteach her the lessons, but decided we better not anymore. When we got back to our apartment there were cops everywhere and they came and knocked on our door because people have been breaking down doors in the complex. It was a pretty crazy night! ðŸĪŠ My companion slept with a baseball bat for protection! 😂
Sunday was good, that lady came to church for the first time since I've been here, because she wanted to talk to the bishop about me. 😂 He already knew the situation though. Nobody really wanted to see us because it was mother's day and they were all with their families, so we did some clean up of our records and called our moms to tell them happy mothers day!
Love you all!

May 6 2019

This week was busy! We did lots of finding. We had transfers on Wednesday, so now I'm just with Elder Esplin. Thursday we did service at the roadrunner food Bank. Friday we had district council, service, and did some finding.
Saturday Elder Gong came and visited, when we were all shaking his hand I gave him a hug. He looked very confused and surprised. We had a good meeting with him, sister Gong, Elder Pieper, Elder gay, and Elder Torres. Elder Gong talked a lot about the importance of listening to people when we are talking to them.
Sunday we met with a guy after church and he tried to bash with us. He was crazy!

April 29, 2019

This week was pretty crazy, I've been sick all week, and now elder esplin is sick, so we haven't been able to do much. We got to see and talk to lots of doctors this week.
We had the baptism for Bruce and Judy on Saturday, and it was Awesome! They both bore their testimonies and it was beautiful! They love the gospel so much, and are going to be awesome members!
We found out transfer news on Saturday night, and I'm going to stay in Bernalillo/enchanted hills with Elder esplin! I'm super excited!
We did as much work this week as I could, and we did lots of service, we helped someone with yard work, worked at the roadrunner food bank, and worked at an autism walk at the balloon Fiesta park.
Love yall!

April 22, 2019

This week was awesome! Tuesday we did service as a zone, we raked leaves for a lady, then we contacted some people, and had a lesson with Bruce and Judy who are getting baptized on Saturday! Wednesday we had a few lessons and did some service for a less active member.  We tilled and planted his garden!  He also made us some authentic New Mexican Pueblo food which was really good. Thursday we did service as a zone again at the New Mexico Roadrunner Food Bank. We then had dinner with a lady who is a pueblo Indian, and she made all authentic food.  It was the hottest food I have ever eaten! She had Pesole, Green Chile Stew, Red Chile Stew, Fry-bread, Oven-bread, and a whole bunch of other things that I don't know. It was really good.  Some advice we were given by someone else there was to put toilet paper in the freezer for later.😂  We had more lessons and coordination meeting. We also had another awesome lesson with Bruce and Judy. Friday we had District council in Albuquerque, and we spent the rest of the day Friday and all day Saturday inviting people to Church for Easter.  We bought easter eggs and printed off invites and put them in the eggs with candy.  We left them on peoples doors, in peoples yards, handed them to people, etc.  We invited hundreds of people, but didn't end up seeing any of them at church :(. Sunday we went to the Enchanted Hills ward, then we did splits with the Zone Leaders, and Elder Sommer and I stayed in Bernalillo while Elder Lowry did Bruce and Judy's Baptismal interviews.  Elder Esplin went to the YSA ward with Elder Johnson.  We missed the Bernalillo Sacrament Meeting, but then went to the La Cueva Sacrament meeting.  After church we switched back ,and then went and visited and ate with a bunch of different members. It was a super fun week, we find out transfer news Saturday after the baptism, so we'll see what happens! Love Y'all!

April 15, 2019

This week was crazy!  Tuesday we went to Albuquerque to meet with someone for medical reasons.  While we were there we grabbed a package from the mission office for another Elder in our apartment complex.  When we got back to the apartment that night and took the package over to him we could tell something wasn't right. He was super scared and asked to use our phone to call the mission president.  The mission president asked to talk to his companion and then he waited outside with us.  After a few minutes his companion threw the phone outside and yelled at him to get in there. He then slammed and locked the door.  We knew it wasn't going to be good, so we waited outside. After a few minutes he ran back outside and bolted for our apartment.  He was barefoot and just in his pjs. We got to our apartment, locked all the doors and windows and he called President Guffey and the zone leaders.  They all showed up, and the Elder that was mad ended up going home and that area got shut down for the rest of the transfer.  Then Wednesday the mission president came down again and met with my companion and told us that he was probably going to go home as well and that he would let us know the final decision at zone conference on Friday.  So Friday we found out that he was going home and that I was getting Emergency Transferred to Bernalillo and Enchanted Hills wards with Elder Esplin and Elder Sommer.
Saturday we had Megan's baptism and that went really good!  I was able to play the piano for that, and the spirit was super strong.  Her dad came for it, who had been against her being baptized before we got there.  After the baptism we left for Albuquerque, and I was picked up by my new companions.  They are awesome missionaries, and really hard workers.  We have done lots of missionary work since I've been with them.  We have 2 people on date for baptism that are super awesome and solid.  Their names are Bruce and Judy and they are getting baptized on April 27th. I'm also now in the same zone as the assistants to the president, and where President Guffey lives. So it's been a hard, crazy week, but now I'm in a great place with awesome companions!
Love yall!
